Spectroscopy as Experimental Method

The main interest of E3 is the development and application of spectroscopy. These methods use electromagnetic fields or particle beams to determine energy differences in the quantum mechanical energy structure of matter. Resonance is achieved if the Planck relation is fulfilled, and thus absorption of energy is possible. Experimentally one might for example measure the absorption of radiation within a material as a function of wavelength.
